Community Bible reading sessions
On Sunday afternoons we are holding an open Bible reading session at the Greenmeadows Centre in Stoke. Members of the public are welcome to join us as we read and discuss God’s word the Bible.
This is a relaxed and informal environment that encourages ‘back to basics’ Bible reading and where people are free to ask questions. We will have Bibles available for you to use. Tea/coffee and biscuits provided.

Why we DO need God
In our relatively wealthy Western society, it can be easy to think that we don’t need God. If we have a full pantry, a roof over our heads, enough money to get by and a little extra to spend on treating ourselves, then it is easy to drift comfortably through life without ever giving God a second thought.
But sooner or later we will be confronted with something that makes us realise how little control we have over our lives. Perhaps we will experience a financial loss, maybe a close family member will die, or an important relationship turns sour, or maybe we lose our health. At these low points in our life, the situation can seem overwhelming. But these times are also an opportunity, because God often uses them as a way to get our attention, to make us realise that we are not in control, and that we need to trust him instead of thinking that we can handle everything ourselves.
Once we realise how much we need God, then we are in a position where we are able to receive what he can give us - mercy, compassion, forgiveness, love, and so much more. Find out more at:
